Abstract Paintings G8 2006 ABA Oman
In this Unit, grade 8 students created abstract watercolor paintings after a session of blind contour line drawing - a form of drawing during which the artists were not allowed to look at their paper and their hands have to follow their gaze in their minds. Naturally, such practice gives exciting unexpected shapes. Students then used those shapes to form affective compositions which must maintain at least one focal point. As such a flexible medium, water color gave unique expression to each work.
